Southern Ohio ESC Collaborates with Ohio Human Capital Cohort to Develop "Portrait of a Southern Ohio ESC Professional"

At Southern Ohio ESC, the strength of our organization lies in the dedication and quality of our team members. To ensure we continue to attract and retain top-tier talent, we have partnered with the Ohio Human Capital Resource Center's cohort to develop the "Portrait of a Southern Ohio ESC Professional." This initiative is part of our commitment to shaping a dynamic, supportive, and forward-thinking work environment that benefits our students, community, and staff.

Developing the Portrait

The "Portrait of a Southern Ohio ESC Professional" was crafted through a collaborative effort with the Ohio Human Capital Cohort, which focuses on enhancing human capital strategies across educational service centers. By participating in this cohort, Southern Ohio ESC aimed to align its professional development and recruitment efforts with the highest standards and practices.




Key Competencies

After thoughtful consideration and feedback from various stakeholders, five core competencies have been identified as essential traits for all Southern Ohio ESC team members. These competencies are critical in driving our mission and vision forward:

  1. Problem Solver: We seek individuals who think critically, analyze situations, and develop innovative solutions. Problem solvers help us navigate challenges and turn them into opportunities for growth.

  2. Collaborator: Collaboration is at the heart of our work. Team members who are effective collaborators contribute to a cohesive and productive work environment, fostering partnerships that benefit our students and community.

  3. Relationship-Builder: Building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues, students, and community members is vital. We value individuals who can connect with others, build trust, and foster a sense of belonging.

  4. Self-Motivated and Goal-Driven: We look for professionals who are self-starters, motivated by their personal and professional goals. These individuals are proactive, taking the initiative to drive projects and achieve results.

  5. Lifelong Learner: Education is ever-evolving, as are the needs of our students and community. Lifelong learners are committed to continuous improvement, staying informed about new developments, and enhancing their skills and knowledge.
