Southern Ohio ESC Business Advisory Council Earns Prestigious 3-Star Recognition

Wilmington, Ohio – The Southern Ohio Educational Service Center (SOESC) is proud to announce that its Business Advisory Council (BAC) has been recognized as a 3-Star Business Advisory Council for 2025 by the state of Ohio and the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce. This distinguished recognition highlights the Council’s continued dedication to fostering meaningful partnerships between schools and businesses, ensuring that students receive the skills and experiences necessary for future success.  Out of more than 110 Business Advisory Councils across Ohio, only 35 earned 3-Star or 4-Star recognition, and the Southern Ohio ESC BAC is proudly among them.

"This achievement reflects the dedication of our partners, including local businesses, school districts, community organizations, and workforce development agencies, all working together to create meaningful opportunities for students. Their collaboration and commitment are instrumental in bridging education and industry, ensuring that students are equipped with the skills and experiences needed for future success. We look forward to continuing this important work together!"

The Ohio Business-Education Leader Awards for Excellent Business Advisory Councils honor Business Advisory Councils across the state that demonstrate excellence in developing strong partnerships that connect students with career pathways, workforce development, and real-world learning opportunities. The Southern Ohio ESC BAC’s continued commitment to these goals has played a vital role in strengthening the link between education and industry.

The Southern Ohio ESC Business Advisory Council serves Adams, Clinton, Fayette, and Highland counties. It is a partnership of the Southern Ohio ESC, local K-12 and post-secondary educators, area businesses, and economic, community development, and workforce development agencies who work together to assess the workforce needs and employability skills for student and community success in the regional economy.
